CPRE Avon and Bristol has objected to a new anaerobic digester facility at Charlton Field Lane, outside of Bath

CPRE Avon and Bristol have objected to a anaerobic digester facility at Charlton Field Lane, outside of Bath. We are concerned about the size of this facility, which we estimate will only be processing around 30% of actual waste – some of the materials will be grown specifically. This is a rural location, in the Green Belt, and not suited to a facility of this size accessible by country lanes. The potential benefits for the reduction of  carbon emissions are questionable, particularly when energy crops are grown specifically, and the facility uses HGVs to bring in materials from outside.
