We don’t have a typical volunteer in the Avon and Bristol area – but every person who volunteers for us does have one thing in common: they’re absolutely vital to our work!

Voluntary Role: Regional Chair, South West

Do you love the countryside? We’re looking for a special person to lead our South West Regional Group and help us achieve our vision of a beautiful and thriving countryside that is valued, enjoyed and accessible to everyone.

It’s a great opportunity to enhance your collaboration and leadership skills as part of a team of people passionate about the countryside. You’ll be invited to free training courses, workshops and our annual conference and AGM.

We’d welcome applications from people with a minimum of three years’ experience of working or volunteering in a networking, collaboration, partnership, leadership or organisational development role. Experience of volunteering and supporting other volunteers would also be desirable.

The approximate time commitment involves three regional and three national meetings each year and you’ll also typically volunteer from home for around 2-3 hours per week.

Other roles

CPRE appreciates any time our volunteers can give and that’s why we offer a wide variety of exciting and flexible opportunities to suit your interests, skills and experience.

Here are some good reasons to volunteer for CPRE:

  • Meet like-minded people and make new friends
  • Learn new skills – or develop current ones
  • Build your CV
  • Play an important part in the protection of your area
  • Know that your support is making a fantastic contribution to the English countryside and the environment

We could not do what we do without our volunteers: they are our lifeblood. Volunteers bring us a wide variety of skills and time, from being Chairmen of our District Groups to organising a host of exciting events in their areas. It is thanks to volunteers that we can do half of what we achieve.

If you are committed to protecting our beautiful countryside, and have time to spare – however little, take a look at our current volunteering opportunities.
