CPRE Avon and Bristol Diversity and Inclusion Statement
At CPRE Avon and Bristol we are committed to a ‘Countryside for All’, helping everyone access the mental and physical benefits that come from spending time in our natural landscapes. However, for too many people, there are barriers to access and involvement in the countryside. Research shows huge differences in engagement with nature and the countryside, depending on an individual’s background and identity.
At CPRE Avon and Bristol we strive for a fair and inclusive society where everyone is able to reach their full potential, irrespective of their nationality,
ethnicity, gender, race, disability, sexuality or faith.
Through our work in Avon and Bristol, to ensure a thriving and beautiful countryside, we seek to bring together people with different perspectives,
experiences and insights that will enrich our decision making. This will inform how we respond to climate change and plan for a resilient countryside for people and wildlife.
If there are barriers to involvement in the land and nature based sectors, we would like to play our part in helping to remove them by collaboratively
working to find solutions.
There are many demands on our countryside. We need it to produce healthy food, support rural communities and wildlife, and offer us green spaces in which to enjoy our leisure. Increasingly green fields are being targeted for the production of renewable energy and for housing. We need to reflect a range of views so we can ensure sustainable growth; nature’s recovery and the protection of the landscapes we love.
CPRE Avon and Bristol will constantly review our working practice to ensure we meet the needs of people from under-represented groups. Our fundraising approach reflects a desire to be more inclusive. Recruitment for staff and Trustees will increase usage of online recruitment sites we know attract a wide range of culturally diverse individuals.
We commit to ensuring that our Charity is open to all and to actively addressing barriers to participation.
